Today we will meet 8 Hentai Doujins that were Adapted into Regular Manga. There are some cases in the industry where an illustrator starts a series of hentai doujins with their original characters and stories.
Eventually the doujin becomes popular enough for a publisher to show interest, get in touch with the author, and so it is decided to release that story, which started as an adult doujin of explicit sex, in a normal manga published with so many others. .
In this post we will present 8 cases in which this happened. Below the name of each manga you will see 2 images, the left image will always be the initial doujin version, and the right image is the manga version that was published after the success of the doujin.

8 Hentai Doujins that were Adapted into Regular Manga
Ane Naru mono
Ane Naru Mono tells the story of the protagonist who, after losing his parents, makes a deal with the Lovecraftian god Shub-Niggurath (Japan once again turning the creatures of Lovecraftian horrors into waifus) so that she becomes his older sister. The doujin came out in 2015 and the adaptation started publishing in 2016
The doujinshi version of the work is the classic One X Shota scenario, in which onee-chan uses her powers to satisfy the protagonist by changing her appearance a little, creating a clone of her or making her hair turn into tentacles. That version contains 11 chapters, with chapter 11 having been released in December 2020.
The manga version adds more depth to things, introduces several new characters, and explains more what kind of creature onee-chan is. The manga touches on the supernatural aspects a little more. The ecchi of this version is very simple, it is more concerned with focusing on light and fun moments. Currently the manga version has 6 volumes and is still in publication.
There are indications that the events of the doujin version take place after the manga, so far the author has not confirmed this but has left it implied.
Teisou Gyakuten Sekai
Both versions tell the story of the protagonist going to a world where the morals regarding sex are reversed, women are perverted and men are more reserved among other things. The doujinshi version started to be published in 2015 and the adaptation started to be published in 2016.
The doujinshi version tells the story of our protagonist who, after realizing how this world works, decides to offer himself to a classmate in exchange for money. After that he starts offering his services to other girls in his class, teacher and others that he finds around. This version contains seven chapters by the original author and one chapter by another.
The manga version has a female protagonist that did not exist in the doujinshi version, but she is friends with two characters that appear in the doujin. In this version, there are moments of comedy caused by the protagonist’s strangeness with the things of that world, since it is the opposite of what she was used to. After a few chapters the character who is the protagonist of the doujinshi appears and similar events occur and he becomes a second protagonist. This version contains so far 4 volumes and is still in publication
Fukakai na Boku no Subete o
The doujin version serves as a prequel/background to a minor character from the manga version, the doujin was released in 2016 and has 3 chapters and is named after Kimi Dake no Ponytail, the manga was released in 2018 and is complete with 5 volumes.
The doujin shows the past of the character Suzumi who enjoys crossdressing and likes his friend Haruto, after Haruto’s girlfriend breaks up with him Suzumi decides to dress like Haruto’s ideal girl to cheer him up, but it cheers him up too much.
The manga tells the story of Tetsu a student who is the manager of a femboy maid cafe that belongs to his family, one day at the cafe he finds Mogumu who studies with him but is always alone without any friends and he tries to help in this matter and Mogumo reveals to him that he doesn’t see himself as a boy or a girl.
The doujinshi is a typical yaoi/crossdresser that touches lightly on some topics like: sexuality. These issues that the doujin superficially explores are much better explored in the manga, both in the main and secondary characters.
Karami Zakari
Both versions basically tell the same story, a group of four school friends, two boys and two girls, in this group we have the protagonist, the girl he likes, his friend and another girl, one day when visiting the house of friend of the protagonist they start to find out more about sex and this will change everything between them. The doujinshi version came out in 2018 and the manga adaptation started in 2020.
In the doujinshi version, the protagonist’s friend starts having sex with the other girl while the protagonist and the girl he likes are watching, after which the friend hooks up with the girl the protagonist likes and she becomes more and more interested in sex. This version has 3 volumes and 2 side story, it is complete.
The manga version is basically the same until a certain point, after which the author changes some events and introduces new characters. Keep in mind that the manga version has even more NTR than the doujin version and the protagonist is pretty pathetic. This adaptation so far has 7 volumes and is completed.
Kouiu no Gaii
Both the doujin and the manga tell the story of two friends with benefits, we follow their somewhat monotonous lives and their sexual escapades to end this sameness. The doujinshi version started around 2018, in 2020 it won a One-Shot adaptation and then a serialization in the same year.
The doujin version shows the protagonists’ relationship straight to the point, without much explanation we already understand their personalities. It can be seen that their relationship has been going on for some time, and the author also manages to convey a sense of naturalness in it. The act between them often takes place in public places and is often initiated by the female protagonist. This version has no volumes since it was published by pages on sites like pixiv and the author’s own twitter, this version seems to have been abandoned by the author since in addition to his adaptation the author has at least two more manga in publication.
The manga, in turn, tells the beginning of the relationship between our protagonists, who, after a breakup, meet at a mixer and after seeing that they have a lot in common, they decide to have a casual relationship. This version is basically a slice of life with two adult characters who occasionally have sex. This version is currently at 4 volumes and is still in publication.
Chotto Dake ai ga Omoi Dark Elf ga Isekai Kara Oikakete Kita
The story of both versions is very simple, the protagonist is summoned to another world and forms a party with beautiful girls, including a dark elf who is in love with him, and after defeating the demon king the protagonist returns to his world leaving his elf backwards, but she manages to manage and also goes to his world. The doujin began to be published in 2021 and in the same year it gained its manga adaptation.
The story of both versions is practically the same, the only difference is that in the doujinshi there are adult scenes and in the manga they are ecchi with comedy. The doujin version has 5 chapters and the manga has 4 volumes.
Imaizumin Chi wa Douyara Gal no Tamariba ni Natteru Rashii~DEEP~
This is the most recent doujinshi to get a regular manga adaptation. The basic premise of both versions is that the protagonist’s house serves as a meeting point for a group of gyarus, these gyarus spend the entire time playing, playing and eating, until one day they decide to “play” with the protagonist. The doujin version started to be published in 2019 and contains 5 chapters, the manga adaptation started in that year of 2022 and so far contains 14 chapters.
The doujinshi version shows the protagonist’s “activities” with the gyaru, in addition to having a chapter on the hot springs, one with cosplay and one in which a fourth tanned gyaru appears.
The manga version is a continuation of the doujinshi and tells the daily lives of the characters, everything that happened in the doujinshi is canonical and is quoted. In this version the characters still have sex, but it is not shown explicitly.
On twitter the author said that despite the manga adaptation he does not intend to abandon the hentai version of the work.
Sasha-chan to Classmate Otaku-kun
This case is interesting because the only thing brought back from the doujinshi is one, maybe two, characters. The first doujinshi in which this character appears is from 2013, and the manga adaptation started around 2021 to 2022.
The events of the doujinshi is very simple, Sasha, the main character, is a Russian student who comes to Japan to study, soon she starts doing things already expected of a doujinshi and usually these things involve the tags: ugly bastard, groups, NTR and other things like that.
Unlike the doujinshi version, the manga is actually quite cute, in it the story revolves around an otaku classmate of Sasha, this otaku usually reads doujinshi hentais with not so light tags in the middle of the classroom, one day Sasha sees this and is soon interested in him.
Although most likely the author just used the same doujinshi character because he liked her, there are people who think that the two versions have some connection. Some “clues” for these connections would be that the doujinshi that the otaku is reading includes the same tags as the doujinshi version and this could indicate that she approached him because they had similar tastes or that it was then that she became interested in these things, plus she calls this friend of hers the same way she calls a character in doujinshi. Another theory is that as it was shown that the Otaku likes to draw so maybe he was the one who drew her doujinshi since he seems to have the fetishes represented there
